WhoMadeWho über Miles Davis

Das dänische Discorock-Trio WhoMadeWho wildert auch auf seinem zweiten Album THE PLOT wieder in allen möglichen Genres der Musikgeschichte. Gar nicht so überraschend also, dass Gitarrist Jeppe Kjellbergs Lieblingsplatte PORGY AND BESS von Miles Davis ist.

To mention a favorite album is almost impossible since there is so many favorites. But... I've chosen an album by Miles Davis because he always was ahead of his time. If he had been living today he would probably be doing collaborations with Tom Jenkinson (Squarepusher) or the likes of him in some state of the art music form. He was a truly inspirational artist!

PORGY AND BESS is the George Gershwin musical with arrangements by Gil Evans and all vocals replaced by Miles Davis moody trumpet. It has this melancholic blueness and the vulnerable dusty trumpet that is a cure for almost all types of hangover. The harmonic developments and arrangements by Gil Evans are amazing, and you keep asking yourself what will happen next.

Miles actually was the first to make true instrumental rave records! A true pioneer always moving forward.


WhoMadeWho haben gerade auf dem Münchner Gomma-Label ihr zweites Album THE PLOT veröffentlicht. Einblick in die audiovisuelle Kunst des dänischen Trios gewährt das Video zur Single "TV Friend". Bis zum 27. März sind WhoMadeWho in Deutschland auf Tour.
