Trennungsgerüchte, Kele-Rausschmiss-Munkeleien und Bloc Party-Aus – all das ist von gestern. Bloc Party arbeiten derzeit an ihrem vierten Studioalbum in New York. Für die noch im diesem Jahr erscheinende Platte haben sie nun das Label gewechselt – nachdem sie ihr letztes Album „Intimacy“ 2008 noch via Wichita Recordings veröffentlichten, haben sie jetzt einen Vertrag mit dem New Yorker Independent-Label Frenchkiss Records unterzeichnet.

Der Pressemeldung zufolge sagt Kele selbst: „It is with great pleasure that I would like to announce to the universe that Bloc Party have now signed to Frenchkiss Records. This signing has made Bloc Party very happy because not only do we know and love the people at this label but we know and love this label’s output. Frenchkiss has released some mighty fine music over the years, music that has gone on to influence this very band. So here’s to some more mighty fine music…”

Desweiteren sind zwei Festival-Auftritte für das Melt! Festival (13. – 15.07.) und das Frequency Festival (16. – 18.08.) bestätigt.
