Christophe Gowans mag Musik.
The story of two catholic sisters growing up in a swiftly changing post-war Britain. Guess what? It doesn’t end well.” Das Buch BAD von Michael Jackson wäre ein “Gruesome schlock from the prolific Jackson. In this relentless stalkerfest, private eye Dwight Blackman takes on the ‘Shamone’ Killer for the 3rd time. Will the psycho slip through the dick’s fingers yet again? Yes.” Und OK COMPUTER von Radiohead wäre eine Bedienungsanleitung.
Die Geschichte hinter seinen Geschichten hat Christophe Gowans uns via E-Mail verraten.
Über seine Motivation: “I love to play with words and I love to make pictures out of nothing. So I became a designer, but I ended up doing it all the time, not just when when I was working, so I guess I’m an artist too.”
Über die Idee zu The Record Books: “The Record Books came when I saw a series of record covers changed by a guy called Little Pixel into 1960’s Pelican/Penguin book covers. He used the original record designs. I wondered what those titles would have looked like if they really had been books.”
Über sein Lieblingscover: “My favourite one? I don’t know, it changes over time. I love ‘Daydream Nation’ – I’m very happy with my illustration for that – but then something like ‘Horses’ isn’t so beautiful, but it is very funny, to me.”
Über seine Plot-Ideen: “The plot summaries come out of my head very fast, without too much thought. They are in no way inspired by the music. Usually they are based on what the book looks like, and sometimes I like to poke a little fun at the original musicians. :-)”
Über diese Arbeit und weitere Arbeiten: “I am taking requests on Twitter, taking suggestions of what other albums I could convert. Apart from that I have a large number of ongoing projects, many of them relating to music, some of which are appearing at ceegworld.com. I am also currently posting a number of Bubble Bath Decapitations.”
