Johnny Depp singt gemeinsam mit Keith Richards, Courtney Love, Patti Smith und Iggy Pop Piraten-Lieder


Was macht man als arbeitsloser Pirat? Johnny Depp veröffentlicht gemeinsam mit 'Fluch der Karibik'-Regisseur Gore Verbinski ein Album mit Seemannsliedern.

Dass mehrere Jahre als Captain Jack Sparrow nicht spurlos an Johnny Depp vorüber gehen, war absehbar. 2006 hatte er seine Liebe zum Piraten-Dasein erstmals musikalisch auf einem Album mit Sea-Shanties verewigt. Jetzt folgt mit SON OF ROGUES GALLERY ein neues Doppelalbum mit Seemannsliedern. Und weil Piraten bekanntlich selten alleine singen, feiern und trinken, hat sich Depp für das neue Album Hilfe geholt.

Auf dem Album SON OF ROGUES GALLERY singen Courtney Love und REM-Sänger Michael Stipe den Song „Rio Grande“, „The Mermaid“ wird von Patti Smith interpretiert und Iggy Pop singt „The Dreadnought“. Außerdem sind auf der Doppel-CD unter anderem Beth Orton, Shane MacGowan, Frank Zappa, Tom Waits, Keith Richards, Marianne Faithfull, Nick Cave und Broken Social Scene vertreten.
