Smashing-Pumpkins-Frontmann Billy Corgan bezeichnet Radiohead im Interview als Wichtigtuer und sagt, dass Gitarrist Ritchie Blackmore besser als Radiohead-Gitarrist Jonny Greenwood sei.
In einem Interview mit dem Online-Magazin Antiquiet spricht Smashing-Pumpkins-Frontmann Billy Corgan darüber, wie es momentan mit der Rockmusik steht. Dabei kommt Corgan auf Radiohead zu sprechen und sagt: „I’m not pissing on Rainbow. I’m not pissing on Deep Purple. But I’ll piss on fucking Radiohead, because of all this pomposity. This value system that says Jonny Greenwood is more valuable than Ritchie Blackmore. Not in the world I grew up in.„. Im Folgenden vergleicht er weiter Deep Purple- und Rainbow-Gitarrist Ritchie Blackmore mit Radioheads Jonny Greenwood und sagt: “ So I find myself defending things. Is Ritchie Blackmore a better guitar player than me and Jonny Greenwood? Yes.„
