Die Grammy-Nominierungen dominiert in diesem Jahr aber trotzdem ein Rapper: Kendrick Lamar, der mit TO PIMP A BUTTERFLY eines der angesagtesten Alben des Jahres veröffentlicht hat, wurde in insgesamt elf Kategorien nominiert, darunter auch „Song des Jahres“ und „Album des Jahres“. Mit jeweils sieben Nominierungen folgen Sängerin Taylor Swift und R’n’B-Musiker The Weeknd.

Die 58. Grammy-Verleihung wird wohl zu einem Wettstreit zwischen Kendrick Lamar und Taylor Swift werden. In den wichtigsten Kategorien stehen sie sich nämlich als Kontrahenten gegenüber, für das beste Duett sind sie mit „Bad Blood“ sogar gemeinsam nominiert.
