Erst vor ein paar Wochen hatte Justin Vernon ein Comeback von Bon Iver angekündigt – so dachte man zumindest. Die Tatsache, dass er mit seiner Grammy-prämierten Band auf dem von ihm persönlich kuratierten Eaux Claires Music And Art Festival in Wisconsin auftrten würde, kommentierte Vernon mit den Worten: „It’s the perfect platform for us to be like, this is how we’re starting this new cycle, new life of the band. It makes so much sense to start it here“. Nun relativiert er seine Aussage aber wieder: Nein, weitere Tourtermine oder Einzelshows seien nicht geplant, schon gar nicht ein neues Album.

Im Interview mit Grantland.com sagte Justin Vernon: „Our show is our main focus. We don’t have anything booked after this. We don’t have any plans. We’re not being secretive — we just don’t have any plans. It’s just about, ‚Play the show and put all of our energy into one show‘ — for once in my life, let’s just play one fucking show and care just about this one show for a goddamn change. (…) As far as putting a record together, I don’t really know what’s happening.“

Als Bon Iver brachte Songwriter Vernon zwei Alben heraus: 2008 erschien das Debüt FOR EMMA, FOREVER AGO, 2011 folgte BON IVER, BON IVER. 2014 veröffentlichte Bon Iver einen neuen Song auf dem Soundtrack zu Zach Braffs WISH YOU WERE HERE. Zuletzt trat Vernon gemeinsam mit Kanye West als dessen Gast beim Glastonbury Festival 2015 auf.

Beim „Eaux Claires Music And Arts Festival“ werden am 17. und 18. Juli 2015 neben Bon Iver The National, The Tallest Man On Earth, Sufjan Stevens, Spoon und viele mehr spielen.
